Description: Sawmill Maintenance Technician
Full Time on-site role as a Sawmill Maintenance Technician located in Harrison, Michigan. As a Sawmill Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on sawmill equipment, including troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the sawmill. You will collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement preventative maintenance plans, maintain inventory of spare parts, and assist in equipment installation and upgrades.
Qualifications needed:
- Mechanically inclined and self motivated
- Must be able to spot problems before they arise
- Must be able to source and shop for various parts and supplies needed
- Must be able to weld proficiently
- Must be able to lift 50 plus lbs.
- Keen understanding of hydraulic systems and dlectrical systems and controls
- Sawmill experience preferred but not required
- Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be willing to work on an on-call basis when needed such as evenings and weekends in an emergency situation.
Exact Compensation Based on Skills and Experience:
- Wage based on experience up to $30.00 per hour
- 40 hour scheduled work week Tuesday - Friday 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Variable based on work needing to get done.
