We are currently seeking a motivated and analytical candidate for the role of Transportation Planning Specialist 1. This position involves executing various transportation planning, programming, and funding tasks, making it a great opportunity for the right individual.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will support the planning and programming of port activities throughout the Commonwealth. You will conduct research and perform data analysis to compile reports for federal and state funded port and rail projects for presentation to the department; implement performance metrics developed by the Port Manager to ensure alignment with DOT and port missions; and support the Port Manager and the bureau director by participating in freight related committees, working groups and coalitions including the North Atlantic Ports Association, Pennsylvania's Comprehensive Freight Movement Plan, and the Governors' and Premiers' Regional Maritime Entity.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a Transportation Planning Specialist Trainee; or One year of professional transportation planning or transportation programming experience and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, planning, computer science, or geography; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
