The Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Third Party Liability in the Bureau of Program Integrity is searching for a Third Party Liability Program Investigator to join our team. This position is responsible for the recovery of medical assistance expenditures that were incorrectly or provisionally paid on behalf of DHS recipients. This is a statewide program headquartered in the Recovery section of the Office of Administration. DESCRIPTION OF WORK Duties for this position include investigating cash and medical assistance claims for personal injury and estate cases, and assessing collection of potential cash and medical assistance claims against third parties and recipients. Your work is performed based on developing and maintaining a working knowledge of legal and regulatory aspects of cash and medical benefits and the claims computation process. You also negotiate settlements based on logic and facts, and review payments and resolve discrepancies.

Additional duties include working in conjunction with other units, executing sound verbal and written communications, maintain individual active case records on a daily basis, and developing a working knowledge of pertinent electronic data systems.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: Under the current Administration, this position may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to three (3) days week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. One year of experience as a Third Party Liability Program Technician; or Four years of experience in the investigation of Health Care and personal injury records, correspondence and documents used in establishing legal liability, or determining approval of health care and personal injury insurance claims; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
