DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Technical Guidance and Content Coordinator, you will provide support to the Environmental Group Manager, Bureau of Waste Management, and the statewide solid waste management program in the areas of planning, data management and analysis, and program evaluation, policy, and implementation, to ensure compliance with the Commonwealth's rules and regulations.  This role requires a comprehensive knowledge of regulatory, technical, and program related issues involving the Bureaus of Waste Management, Radiation Protection, Air Quality, and Environmental Cleanup and Brownfields, and develops and supports cross-program initiatives. In addition to the analytical and policy-oriented responsibilities of this position, you will also play an active role in the solid waste and recycling fund advisory committees and develop presentations as necessary.  You will be involved in media development in the capacity of coordinating the development of the bureau's internal and external websites and provide maintenance as needed.  We are looking for someone who possesses excellent communication skills and is able to fulfill duties independently and with minimal supervision.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week and report to the office 2 days a week.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as a Solid Waste Specialist; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which affords the applicant the required knowledges and abilities.

Necessary Special Requirement: You must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license as issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
