Overview

Sunrun is looking for a Sr Tax Accountant to join our team in the Bay Area, CA. This is an excellent opportunity to join a tax team navigating a wide variety of tax compliance and reporting complexities that will establish a solid foundation of business tax experience. The Sr Tax Accountant will assist with the responsibilities and deliverables of the Company’s various tax filings, with a primary focus on corporate and partnership income tax. Other tax compliance that the Sr Tax Accountant may assist with include sales tax, property tax, local excise tax, and other business taxes.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the calculation and preparation of schedules for the quarterly income tax provision

• Compiles data and prepares workpapers to support income tax compliance and other special projects

• Prepares federal, state, and local income tax returns and related schedules

• Provides assistance on tax related audits

• Assists with research to ensure compliance with federal and state and local tax laws and regulations, especially as the Company enters into new jurisdictions

• Identifies opportunities for increased efficiencies and accuracy

• Assists with tax-related general ledger account reconciliations

• As needed, assists management with other tax reporting and compliance projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required

• Public accounting experience preferred

• Experience preparing and filing tax returns with local, state, and federal taxing agencies preferred

• Quick learner and able to work independently

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines

• Ability to use Excel to organize and analyze data sets using pivot tables, functions, and other tools

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:

$76,415.98 to $101,887.97

Sunrun provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, a wellbeing program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO). Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, based on both company and individual performance, as well as short- and long-term incentives and program-specific awards. Compensation decisions will not be based on a candidate's salary history. Please note: Employee benefits do not apply to our Fusion and Street Sales roles, which are 100% commission-based, (1099-NEC) positions.
