The Health and Human Services (HHS) IT Delivery Center provides end-to-end IT services to all staff in the Department of Human Services (DHS), the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), and the Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA).

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Senior Application Developer position works in the Enterprise Data Warehouse in the DOH / DDAP Solutions Management Division, in the Health & Human Services IT Delivery Center. Primary responsibilities of this role include designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining advanced, complex data lakes, data warehouse databases, extract-load-transform programs, applications, and reports.

This Senior Application Developer is a senior level position that requires advanced, specialized knowledge and experience in data warehousing, database, and programming concepts and technology. The incumbent must have proven experience in the development, maintenance, testing, and maintenance of SQL Server databases, Azure Data Lakes, and data extract and load programs. This position assists in a technical leadership role on multiple, critical, and complex data warehouse and business intelligence projects.

This position will work with public health professionals, business analysts, application developers, database, and system administrators to achieve project objectives - including delivery dates, cost objectives, quality objectives, and program area customer satisfaction objectives. There are several exciting projects underway, including moving the data warehouse into Azure, the Department of Health's Data Modernization Initiative, and the Reporting Hub.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may be expected to work from home (telework) full-time. You must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Note: You will be expected to work in the office 1 day per month. This could change and you may be required to come into the office, headquartered at 2525 North 7th Street, Harrisburg, more often or permanently. Salary:Selected candidates, who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary (before taxes) of $74,191.00. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Applications Developer 2 or Computer Programmer 4; or Five years of information technology experience that includes three years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance; or Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applicati ns maintenance, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Other Requirements: This particular position also requires two or more years of full-time experience with Microsoft SQL Server. You must meet the PA residency requirement.
