The Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) is seeking experienced and dependable Dispatchers for our new and growing dispatch center in Dauphin County. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) Dispatcher, you will perform public service dispatching duties including receiving, dispatching, and coordinating information and processes in the PGC Centralized Dispatch Center. In addition, you will perform a variety of general support duties related to communication activities including record keeping, typing, and filing.

This position gives you the opportunity to coordinate communications between multiple units, agencies, and jurisdictions while navigating through a variety of computer screens to input and retrieve information. You will be required to adapt quickly to changing priorities and situations as well as be able to quickly and accurately obtain relevant information to make decisions with sound reasoning when moments matter.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours per week. 24 hour operating facility. Flexible work schedule, shifts will vary, working 4, 10-hour days in a 7-day workweek. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of dispatch operations experience, two-way radio operation experience, or complex clerical experience. Possession of a valid Public Safety Telecommunicator certificate issued by the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials may be substituted for six months of the required experience. Possession of a valid Pennsylvania hunting license may be substituted for three months of the required experience. Special Requirements: You must possess a clear, firm voice and no major speech, hearing, or visual impairments that would interfere with understanding verbal communication, being understood, or using electronic communications equipment and visual display equipment. Post-Employment Requirement: You must be able to obtain CLEAN and JNET certification within the probationary period and maintain these certifications for the duration of employment in this job.
