The Department of Labor and Industry is seeking a qualified professional to join our department as a Labor Mediator. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The work of the Bureau of Mediation is within both the private and public sectors and today is the keystone of the Commonwealth's efforts to cultivate cooperative relationships between labor and management in plants, schools, governmental agencies, and other places of work.

As a Labor Mediator, you will be responsible for providing impartial professional mediation services to assist with labor negotiations and to provide proactive training and services to the parties.

Please note: This position will be responsible for providing Mediation services primarily within the Western Region of Pennsylvania. Accordingly, candidates must live in Washington, Greene, Fayette, or Westmoreland County and be able and willing to travel to all areas of assigned coverage on a regular basis.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, home headquartered. Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Sunday - Saturday, with a 60-minute lunch. Hours may vary depending on work assignments and work schedule will routinely include evenings and weekends. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of progressively responsible experience in the field of labor-management relations and two years of experience in labor contract negotiations, administration, or mediation which includes or is supplemented by one year of collective bargaining experience; or A bachelor's degree with major course work in labor-management relations, industrial management, or personnel administration and two years experience in labor contract negotiations, administration, or mediation which includes or is supplemented by one year of collective bargaining experience; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training with two years of experience in labor contract negotiations, administration, or mediation which includes or is supplemented by one year of collective bargaining experience.
