DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will be part of the Bureau of Food Safety & Laboratory Services within the Policy & Program Division, where you will contribute to a range of initiatives aimed at enhancing and overseeing different food safety programs. Additionally, you will support the Pennsylvania Department of Education's summer food program for children by utilizing your foundational understanding of sanitation and food safety practices.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/2025 through 8/29/2025 Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time on a schedule that aligns with their supervisor so they are in the office on the same days. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. QUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements:
Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree program or higher in the following majors: Food Science Nutrition Food Technology
An approved major course which includes a qualifying 24 credit hours of study in the physical, biological and environmental sciences may be acceptable. Good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher). Freshman year completed. Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university. Additional Requirements:
You must possess a valid driver's license that is not under suspension. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
