DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will develop innovative strategies to enhance relationships with the small business community and increase their participation in state contracting. Core job duties include project management, stakeholder engagement, and data management. You will be responsible for leading special projects to enhance small business participation and engagement, implementing initiatives like the Small Business Reserve program to enable small business to compete for and achieve prime contracts. Your daily activities will build relationships with small businesses associations and key stakeholders, which is essential for representing the Bureau in public speaking roles on small business opportunities.

This rewarding and impactful work also includes overseeing data collection on small business participation in state contracts to produce reports that will guide strategic decisions. Through the knowledge gained from your business relationships and analysis-driven insights, you will also advise the Deputy Secretary on outreach strategies and resource allocation. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Hours are flexible and can be negotiated and discussed at the interview and offer. This position requires travel across the state for meetings, events, and site visits. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. This position is expected to work in the office one to three days per week and telework or travel other days. Specifics will be discussed at the interview. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirements: This position requires a valid driver's license.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

Certifications related to business management, public administration, or economic development, and project management.
