DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this Clerical Assistant 3 position, you will perform a variety of clerical and administrative tasks to support our department's administration of federal and state adult basic and family literacy funds. This includes managing incoming correspondence and telephone calls by providing answers to routine questions or transferring the call to the appropriate division staff member or other offices. You will also create, maintain, and update forms, tracking sheets, correspondence, and other documents needed for division activities.

Other administrative duties include arranging all travel details for the division staff via the Commonwealth's travel system and preparing expense reports when travel is completed. You will also review age waiver requests for high school equivalency test eligibility and 30 college credit program applications for completeness. Attention to detail is essential for determining if criteria are met and recommending approval or denial. You will also have the opportunity to participate in the review of annual grant and fiscal report submissions. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. This position currently reports to the office each Wednesday with other days in the office as assigned by the supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
