DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will serve as a liaison for field time and attendance and payroll issues, as well as provide guidance regarding time issues to county timekeepers, employees, managers, supervisors, and others as needed. It is essential for you to understand, utilize, and interpret a variety of contracts, management directives, Commonwealth pay rules, foreman manuals, alternate work schedules, multiple shifts, 24/7 operations, winter and summer agreements, local side agreements, or any other resources in calculating employee pay or determining accurate leave coding. Effective communication skills are required for this position as you will be conducting meetings or trainings for county timekeepers in person or virtually, in addition to responding to questions from district employees regarding time/attendance and pay. You will have the opportunity to monitor field payroll activity, submit Position/Personnel Action Requests (PARs) for processing, and conduct reviews of payroll "outputs" to ensure correct payments are made to employees in accordance with pay rules, policies, and procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of the probationary period and at the discretion of the supervisor.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
