DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Audit Specialist 3, you will lead a variety of audits, engagements, and reviews in accordance with generally accepted government auditing standards.  Specific responsibilities include developing risk assessment or evaluating risk assessment developed by staff based on audit objectives, developing or reviewing the development of the audit program and objectives, and interpreting agreements, contracts, policies, legislation, rules, and regulations.

This position conducts audit testing in accordance with the audit program, prepares and reviews audit findings and recommendations, and completes final audit reports in preparation for management review.  You will also oversee and conduct interviews with auditees, as well as exit and entrance conferences.

It is imperative that this professional adheres to all office policies, Commonwealth directives, the Code of Conduct, and works towards achieving Office of the Budget and Bureau of Audit objectives and performance measures.  This position reports to the Audit Manager and will communicate the progress of assignments or specified issues related to audit work, in addition to assigning work to the Executive Audit Specialists and Executive Financial Associates.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Alternate work schedule (AWS) is available upon completion of the probationary period. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements.  Please keep in mind that while this is a full-time telework position, that can change at any time at the Governor's discretion.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Audit Specialist 2; or Three years of professional auditing experience and a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by eighteen [18] credits in accounting and auditing; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which included the required eighteen [18] credits in accounting and auditing.

Other Requirements: This particular position also requires candidates to possess two or more years of combined full-time experience within the following areas: Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS/Yellow Book) Institute of Internal Audit (IIA) Standards) Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) Standards) American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Standards) Standards for Internal Control in the Federal Government (Green Book)/COSO NOTE: ANY COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE EQUALLING 2 YEARS IN THE ABOVE AREAS IS ACCEPTABLE.
