DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Wildlife Technician, you will provide field support for the implementation of Bureau of Wildlife Management (BWM) and region programs.  This position will work as part of a fully functional wildlife management team with shared BWM program support among wildlife management supervisor, wildlife biologist 1, wildlife technician, bio-aide, and intern positions to achieve the agency's goals and objective.

You will perform professional wildlife management work including but not limited to capturing, handling, marking, and monitoring birds and mammals, as well as wildlife health and population monitoring, and wildlife response to habitat management.  Within this role, it is essential to ensure projects and surveys adhere to established guidelines and meet expected deadlines.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: 3-year limited term, full-time employment, 40 hours/week. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Graduation from an Associate Degree Program in Wildlife Management; or Any combination of experience or training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Special Requirements: You must possess a valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle operator's license.

Legal Requirements: This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
