Cart Attendant

WAGE: *$12.00 + TIPS *HOURS: PART-TIME SEASONAL POSITION(S); MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL SHIFTS, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a professional attitude toward all guests, associates and supervisors.
  • Maintain grounds around golf shop and cart storage building, keeping clean of litter and debris.
  • Prepare golf carts for daily play; bring to cart storage area and make sure carts are stocked with scorecard, tees and pencil.
  • Assist players with golf bags before and after their round.
  • Clean customer's golf clubs as needed.
  • Pick up and deliver golf clubs to the hotel.
  • Assist golfers who are renting golf clubs, make sure all rental sets are full, clean and in good condition.
  • Perform routine maintenance of golf carts, filling batteries with water as needed.
  • Keep supplies (towels, tees, pencils, scorecards, etc.) in stock and readily available.
  • Fill divot mix bottles when needed.
  • Clean out, wash and park golf carts in designated stalls at days end and make sure cart is plugged in and charging.
  • Report any golf cart damage or performance issues to your supervisor.
  • Pick the driving range when needed.
  • Wash range balls.
  • Stock golf range stations with balls.
  • Change water in golf club washers on the driving range.
  • Will be cross-trained to perform all other functions of golf course.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: *Previous experience working with the public preferred. *Knowledge: Golf knowledge and experience preferred. Knowledge of departmental operations and casino policies and procedures. Skills and Abilities: Must have well-developed skills. Must have careful and deliberate decision making skills, be detailed oriented, and communicate well both verbally and in writing. Must have the ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment and handle high stress situations as they present themselves. Must have good customer service skills and work well with the public. Must have the ability to prioritize and be self-motivated.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Golf cart, 2 way radio, utility cart with ball picker, basic tools, golf ball washer and spray washer.

  • Stand/walk for 4-8 hours of an 8-hour shift.
  • Sit for 2-4 hours of an 8-hour shift.
  • Lift and carry 1O lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. throughout an 8-hour shift.
  • Must be able to frequently bend, squat, kneel, reach, twist, and rotate as needed during an 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to work under varying weather conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level is generally quiet. May be from time to time exposed to inclement weather, fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and misdirected golf balls. Work hours will include weekdays, weekends and holidays.
