CAE USA INC MQ-9 Simulator Console Operator in Hancock, New York

About This Role

Summary

The Console Operator runs the MQ-9 simulator training device for Pilot and Sensor Operator Instructors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide real time MQ-9 simulator mission support to on-going simulator missions, including Emergency Procedures , Launch and Recovery, CT, regular syllabus missions, and VIP and/or guest demonstrations.

  • Responsible for loading the appropriately scheduled missions ahead of the arrival of the instructor and student crew scheduled for the simulator.

  • Maintain an immediate presence during the conduct of the mission in order to provide real-time tactical adjustments as directed by the instructor or CT crew.

  • Provide troubleshooting assistance for maintenance or programming issues that may occur.

  • Maintain the time-use log for the PMATs and maintain a daily log of simulator discrepancies for coordination with PMATs manufacturer’s representatives on site.

Additional Duties.

  • When PMATS (or follow on ATD) are not fully in use, COs will work with training and current ops to refine dance cards, Zues profiles, and program sim profiles.

  • Inject other players, via voice or mIRC, in the scenario as directed by the script or Instructor direction. This can include outside agencies, other aircraft, enemy forces, ground forces, or others as deemed necessary.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Previous qualification as a crewmember of an aircraft that performed or directly supported CAS, an MQ-1/9 mission intelligence coordinator or Joint Terminal Attack Controller is accepted

  • Familiarity with normal government software and hardware.

  • Experience working in a dynamic high stress environment.

Desired Qualifications.

  • Previously qualified as MQ-1/9 sensor operator or pilot or simulation console support for aircrew training.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with aircraft and weapon system scheduling is desired

  • An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable.

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • Domestic and international travel as required.

  • Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder into a simulator or airplane cockpit.

  • Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environment.
