Schaefer Farms Graders and Sorters of Ag. Products in Hancock, Minnesota

Need 2 full time, temporary, seasonal Graders and Sorters of Ag. Products to work in Hancock, MN. From: 08/16/2024 to 03/01/2025 Work: 48 hrs./week, Mon.-Sat. 8 hrs./day, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Employer may request but cannot require workers to work on their Sabbath. The nature of farm work may require workers to work after dark and possibly weekends depending on weather conditions. Hours offered may vary based on factors such as weather or other unpredictable variables that impact the farm s operation. Workers will be paid overtime in accordance with Minnesota Statute 177, specifically 177.25 Subdivision 1 and/or 177.23 Subdivision 7(2). Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year. Must Apply By: 11/23/2024 JOB DESCRIPTION: Grade, sort, or classify unprocessed agricultural products by size, weight, color, or condition; Sweep, rake, and shovel; Direct unloading of crops; Sort foreign material such as rock and dirt that has gotten past the grader and hand pick any extra foreign material out; Pick up crop pieces and foreign material from around the line to maintain appropriate food and worker safety; Control and service Asa Lift. Employer may, at the company's sole discretion, pay workers an hourly rate above the minimum required and/or offer a bonus to any seasonal worker employed pursuant to this job order depending on how many years of experience they have obtained by working for the employer or other factors such as work performance, skill, punctuality, licensing, training, prior work experience, etc. JOB REQUIREMENTS: One (1) month of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate driver's license (Class D) following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Able to perform work in extreme temperatures with extensive pushing, pulling, sitting, walking, and repetitive movements. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. No minimum education required. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
