Technical Solutions, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries is currently seeking a Program Cost Control Analyst to join our Fleet Sustainment Group. This position is in our Net Center office in Hampton, VA and is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced team of Logisticians, Engineers, Designers, Planners and Analysts that support operations at Newport News Shipbuilding. This position requires an individual that is motivated and comfortable working in a team environment to meet the needs of logistics and engineering projects varying in size for remodeling and carrier new construction operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Sets up cost control system, develop cost estimates, monitors and controls costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system.
Performs analyses and prepares reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.
Prepares budgets and schedules for contract work and performs and/or assists in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis.
Prepares program plans to ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured and scheduled.
Performs schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks.
Ensures adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government.
Incorporates contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines.
Participate in annual revenue forecasting activities.
What you need to have:
3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
EXCEL experience and ability to expand skills in this area.
Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively.
Bonus points for:
Intermediate EXCEL experience.
Experience with Costpoint reports.
Knowledge of various contract types from a Finance perspective.
