Janicki Industries Inc. Production Technician (Weekend Grave Shift) in Hamilton, Washington

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Production Technician to work in our Hamilton Facility on weekend grave shift.

There is a $4 shift differential for all hours worked on the weekend grave shift.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.

The Production Technician will perform a variety of duties and multiple uses of different skillsets. This work involves the wet-lay of composite fabric, flow media and resin to create industry tooling, knowledge of vacuum integrity, spray foam, putty and/or chop application, Duratec prep and application, sanding, grinding, and aerospace tool finishing are additional job functions. Production Technicians at all levels are required to follow directions carefully, have basic mechanical knowledge, manual dexterity, good eyesight and the ability to perform repetitive tasks.

The following essential job functions are performed as a Production Technician:

  • Reads, interprets, and follows pass downs, work orders, isometric drawings, blueprints, work instructions and other technical and non-technical documents.
  • Receives and carries out directions from designated supervisors.
  • Participates in training, safety, and quality programs.
  • Keeps work orders stamped, dated and organized.
  • Attention to detail and quality is required
  • Identifies and obtains equipment, tools and materials needed to properly perform job function.
  • Follows Janicki Industries Rules and Safety Practices and keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Follows 5S, AS9100 and Nadcap standards and practices throughout all work performed.
  • Sets up scaffolding and safety barriers under direction
  • Properly executes Hazardous Material Disposal activities
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition
  • Knowledge and use of common hand tools
  • Works in other Cells to support Production as required, ie; Mill or Assembly Cells
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.

QUALIFICATIONS

Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a)(3).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience in composite or fiberglass fabrication and repair is preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must have the ability to read, understand and follow work orders, written procedures, blueprints, drawings, and other technical documents.
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Wage range for this role is between $18 - $45 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities. 
  • Please note this role would trian on Day shifts for 6 months before switching to offshifts.
