The Position As a Transportation Coordinator, you will secure the most cost-effective rates for load coverage while meeting customer expectations. Your logistics duties will include order management, troubleshooting, managing emergency loads, and ensuring timely load follow-up. Why Should You Apply? About the role: Load Management: Ensure high volume efficiency in securing load coverage for 100-200 loads weekly using the optimal mix of asset-based carriers and brokers. Book all loads according to shipping and delivery requirements. Carrier Management: Source effectively from the flatbed market to meet demand. Prospect and onboard new asset-based carriers. Maintain and manage a primary carrier list and foster effective relationships. Rate Negotiation: Negotiates spot market freight rates by leveraging multiple offers to ensure cost efficiency. Relationship Management: Maintain positive working relationships with customers, carriers, and colleagues. Proactive Communications: Address potential service failures or delays in transit proactively. Report any service failures to the Transportation Manager immediately. Answer incoming calls and inquiries promptly and professionally handle issues. Process Improvement: Participate in teams dedicated to process improvement and innovation. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field preferred. A minimum of 2-years experience in logistics, customer services and/or operations with an understanding of warehouse and transportation procedures/operations. Business acumen with a focus on driving profitability. Exceptional customer service, verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, time-management, and decision-making skills. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines with urgency. Experience using truck management systems and covering flatbed and over-dimensional loads preferred. Ability to work extended hours including occasional weekends and holidays, if needed.
