Location: West Chester Hospital Department: Labor & Delivery Hours: Part-Time, 60 hours/biweekly Shift: 12 Hour AM OB Technician, Part-Time, 12 Hour AM, Labor & Delivery Department UC Health is hiring a Part-Time OB Technician for the labor & delivery department for 12 Hour AM shifts at West Chester Hospital. The Labor & Delivery OB Technician will support West Chester Hospital's Labor & Delivery unit. and will be delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs. This role requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to assist in a circulator role under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. • Management is very hands on when it comes to helping hone your skills.
• Even though there is an on-call schedule, there are less here than at other UC sites.
• The OB Technician is responsible for assisting registered nurses in the provision of basic patient care. The OB Technician needs to demonstrate working knowledge of reasons for tests, procedures, treatments and potential signs and symptoms of complications. It is also someone who demonstrates the knowledge and skills to provide for the physical, psycho/social, safety, cultural, and related patient needs appropriate to the age of the patients of the clinical population served.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school graduate or GED required.
• BLS certification- within 60 days of hire
• STNA preferred; successful passage of 80 hours of State Tested Nurse Aide Training; 40 hours of Acute Medical-Surgical Training, Specialty Training and Hospital Specific Training or a Student from an NLN accredited RN program having successfully completed one Medical-Surgical rotation or another acute rotation.
• Medical Assistant or previous operating room preferred
• Prior to patient contact, the associate will successfully complete Medicaid Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program. Must achieve a passing test score within four months of course completion.
