Eurofins Laboratory Technician - Sample Preparation and Registration in Hamilton, New Zealand

Eurofins Food and Water Testing New Zealand provides range of class leading food, water, plant, soil and  fertilizer testing, as well as horticultural services, auditing and technical solutions, primarily to the New Zealand market. With a staff of over 350 we operate laboratories in Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton, Christchurch, Dunedin, Taupo, Hastings, Queenstown, and Invercargill. We specialise in all Food types, Plants, Soils, Fertilizers, Potable Water, Sludge, Sediments, Leachate, Trade Waste Effluents, Sewage Effluents, Surface Water, River & Stream Monitoring, Seawater, and Groundwater. 

We currently have an entry-level fixed-term full-time role where the core function is to assist in the daily registration and preparation of samples delivered to our Hamilton site for residues testing.

Fixed term: From 15th January to 30th April 2024

Key tasks include:

  • Sample Registration:

  • To receive and register samples without error, and within allowable time & temperature holding time requirements

  • To maintain the condition of samples prior to testing, preserving sample integrity

  • To store and maintain inventory of samples after testing, preserving sample integrity

  • Sample Preparation

  • To process and test samples without error, and within allowable time and temperature holding time requirements

  • To maintain good lab practice at all times, to ensure the highest quality service to our customers

  • To maintain a positive, professional and safe working environment, being mindful of the company’s Health and Safety procedures

  • The role would involve working a roster that would cover 40 hours a week typically Monday to Friday, and may require to work overtime when required

     

Diploma / Degree in Chemistry 

No laboratory experience required, but would be advantageous
