Summary: The Senior Desktop Engineer will be responsible for assisting in solution design and implementation of infrastructure technology solutions within the desktop management space. The Senior Desktop Engineer is also expected to lead and be responsible for the end to end delivery of technical solutions and guiding the solution from all aspects of development requirements, design, security, and implementation), operationalization, adoption and life-cycle management. Responsibilities: * Leads team on established methodology as well as new team initiatives * Mentors and trains the other Desktop Engineering Team members * Creates, tests and develops current Workstation images * Tests, evaluates, and packages software & applications for workstation distribution * Upgrades and deployment of workstations, with a key role in meeting rollout timelines and objectives provided by the business * Assists in developing corporate standards for desktop computer software and hardware and conducting reviews to ensure compliance to standards * Conducts research and recommends new technology solutions * Presents research and may assist in developing long-range plans to address problems * Performs computer management and system administration activities * Serves as an escalation point for the Helpdesk and Desktop Support Requirements: * A Bachelor s degree or equivalent education in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems is preferred, but candidates with proven experience will not be excluded from consideration * 7+ years related experience * MCSE certification a plus * Strong skills with Windows Active Directory and Infrastructure; including ability to troubleshoot problems with Active Directory * Strong security and user account administration skills * Strong skills with current Microsoft software deployment tools and processes * Strong skills with current Altiris software deployment tools and processes * Strong understanding of TCPIP protocol and the ability to troubleshoot issues relating to a LANWAN infrastructure * Ability to work with and troubleshoot remote workstations * Knowledge in scripting languages-VBScript or Powershell preferred, software packaging using applications such as Wise Package Studio or Installshield, Microsoft SQL * Strong skills in Windows 7, Windows 10, Microsoft Server 2008 - 2016 and Microsoft Office 365 Suite * Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present reports and make presentations to management * Strong skills with Windows Active Directory and Infrastructure.
