This is a hybrid working model position with 2-3 days on-site per week/average required. Preferred locations: Marietta, PA, Zebulon, NC, Hamilton, MT
Job Purpose:
The technical breadth of the role extends across maintenance standards and performance; equipment reliability and performance; environmental sustainability; Engineering Compliance and adherence to related Engineering Standards and ways of working.
However, the individual's core accountability will be delivering improvement programs to achieve site's reliability, productivity and maintenance efficiency as well as responsibility of driving governance processes for Operational Engineering
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy Operational excellence methods and programmes (including shop floor level if necessary) ensuring they deliver anticipated value in support of productivity targets (including Value Driven Maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance, LEAN tools, Reliability Based Maintenance, Vertical Start Up etc.).
Lead training to demonstrate methods and benefits, building capability through example.
Embed self within site teams, remaining on site for extended periods, to identify improvement opportunities and drive sustainable performance improvement through site teams, delivering financial / productivity benefits.
Once up and running, programme manage multiple sites through delivery of benefits.
Ensure KPIs for Operational Engineering activities are in place / in use and effective in driving performance and improvement.
Be single point of contact for Vaccines LT for any Engineering matters
Build mutually beneficial links / relationships with OEMs and service providers to enhance reliability, productivity and business benefits.
Lead and use benchmarking internally and externally to identify current performance level and next performance level against best practice and improvement opportunities. Work with the site to update their GPS road map and prioritize activities
Play a lead role in deployment of central systems, standardising methodologies across MG.
Define the overall Operational Engineering programme for sites, prioritising with GPS personnel where individual sites can gain greatest benefit and collaborating to realise productivity benefits.
Drive the Asset Life cycle and asset performance management programme across Vaccines to ensure compliance, performance reliable and cost-effective assets are installed and operated until the end of their life cycle.
Savings tracking and Opex Budget oversight for maintenance and reliability activities
Develop and deploy the overall capability strategy for operational engineering in the sites / Manufacturing Group. Demonstrate success through site performance improvement and enhanced site capabilities.
Ensure effective governance and compliance with Engineering expectations, programmes and standards to agreed timescales and that they have robust governance processes to ensure sustained Engineering performance and compliance
Facilitate environmental sustainability programme across Energy, Water and Waste - support site diagnostics, programme definition and project planning to meet GSK sustainability goals.
Provide Technical Expertise and Strategic support to sites as required on EHS and Quality fundamentals.
Manage talent management and succession plan across Manufacturing group.

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
Bachelor's degree in engineering with a preference in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation or Chemical Engineering.
10 years post graduate experience in a high intensity, highly cost focused manufacturing business.
Experience in delivery of operational efficiency, deployment of Lean, Total Productive Maintenance, continuous improvement or equivalent toolkits.
Experience with machines and production lines highly regulated environment such as pharma, healthcare, food, cosmetics or aeronautics.
Experience in wide groups stakeholders' management including Senior Management.
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
Change management skills are essential, plus the ability to relate to effectively communicate and partner with all levels of the organization - operators, technicians, Front Line Leaders and managers, GPS and other functional teams, senior site and above site personnel.
The impact of the individual will be measured through ability to coach, train, interact with and achieve significant production line performance improvement through site teams, underpinned by excellent people skills, cultural sensitivity and an ability to engage and communicate through all layers of the organization.
The selected individual will be deeply analytical, excellent at troubleshooting and problem solving, adept at converting raw data to valuable insights and determining the right toolset for a particular problem. They will also be highly practical in demonstrating methodologies and transferring skills to production teams.
They will also be commercially astute and capable of identifying opportunities and converting them into financial gain.
Experience in high precision filling and assembly would be beneficial.
