Aerotek Weld Inspector in Haltom City, Texas

Job Title: Weld Inspector

Job Description

The Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is a key role for maintaining our quality standards. In this role, you'll perform inspections on welded products in a fabrication environment, using magnification and stress equipment to ensure that all products meet specifications and quality standards. Your keen eye will be critical in reviewing blueprints and applying your knowledge of welding and metallurgy. Primary duties will include the visual welding inspection of poles and heavy structural steel assemblies for compliance to specified detail drawings, AWS, and AISC specifications. You will also be responsible for ensuring that weld machines are set up correctly and that welding techniques meet quality standards. Hard Skills

  • Inspection of heavy steel assemblies

  • Familiarity with D1.1 code

  • Layout & Dimensional Check (UT a plus)

  • Basic knowledge of ASIC and AWS national codes

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Haltom City, Texas.

Work Environment

Our work environment is a heavy industrial manufacturing facility. Your time will be split between the manufacturing floor/shop and general office areas. Some travel by automobile may be required, and you should be prepared to work in seasonal weather conditions. Please be aware that there will be exposure to shop hazards.
