Kuehne+Nagel Export Dock Clerk - Weekend Shift in Haltom City, Texas
Kuehne+Nagel is looking for an Export Dock Clerk in Haltom City, Texas, who is organized and can easily transition throughout the workday from the warehouse floor to a desk or office area. This is a startup site so it requires a great deal of flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to change is a must. #LI-Onsite
Your Role
You will work with shippers, truckers, and customers for the export of shipments. You will arrange for pick-up or inland transportation, booking, document preparation, forwarding, and follow-up with tracking and tracing to the final destination. Initially, you will be trained on Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Once you complete your training, you will work Friday, 4:00 am - 4:30 pm, Saturday & Sunday, 6:00 am - 6:30 pm. The wage is $22.50 per hour with weekly pay.
Your Responsibilities
Coordinate with shippers and truckers for the export of shipments
Prepare documentation including Bill of Lading (BOLs) invoicing, certificate of origin, and export declaration or AES
Maintain communication with vendor, shipper, customer, carrier, and operations by phone and emails
Negotiate cost-effective rates with service providers to ensure maximum profitability
Maintain SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and customer profiles including key contacts, special requirements, contract rates and preferred routings, services, and carriers
Immediately report problems, operation disputes or discrepancies to operations
Read and work in accordance with quality management work instructions
Resolve billing discrepancies and discrepancies against client SOPs
Your Skills and Experiences
High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of experience in air freight or export shipping
Good working knowledge of domestic and international geography including countries and major cities
Basic knowledge of U.S. Administration Regulations (FAA, FMC, EAR, Hazmat) and other government agency requirements
