Position Summary
As a Bookbinder in our Bindery Department, you will be responsible for setting up and operating industrial equipment to produce quality finished products. Working in a fast-paced, unionized environment, you will contribute to the development of secure documents crucial for border security, currency protection, and government revenue generation. Success in this role contributes to CBN’s global leadership in providing customed solutions for governments worldwide.

What You Will D o
A Journeyperson Bookbinder is responsible for setting up and operating industrial bindery equipment to produce quality finished products and will perform the following:
Set-up and operate bookbinding equipment related to cutting, collating, folding, stitching, and stamping.
Adjust machinery to ensure efficient operation and quality finishing is maintained.
Review job orders to determine production time and quantities required.
Various other duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience
Candidates must have one of the following:
A Journeyperson Bookbinder certification; or
Previously completed a Journeyperson apprenticeship; or
4+ years of current and relevant experience working as a Bookbinder or Bindery Operator.
Technical Skills
Current and relevant bindery experience on machines such as:
Cutter
Saddle Stitcher
Perfect Binder
Collator
Industrial Knives
Hot Stamper, embossing, or debossing
Additional experience with the following would be beneficial:
Foil stamping
Electronic chip inlay
Laser cutting
Lamination
Excellent mechanical and mathematic skills
Soft Skills and Abilities
Analytical skills
Attention to detail
C ommunication skills (verbal and written)
Mandatory Requirements
Ability to work all shift schedules including days, nights, evenings, and overtime as required
Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance
