Strategically impact the products SW deliverables maturity and Quality, Responsible for managing automation and DevOps engineering team for designing and architecting scalable and secure services and automated solutions, building products automated simulations and providing support for multiple products CI/CD environments.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • People leader for the automation, DevOps and infrastructure engineering team

  • Serves as best practice/quality resource.

  • Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area.

  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others

  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.

  • Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions

  • Work with internal customers to create strategy, Identify the scope of the work, build prioritized work plan and deliver per plan

  • Managing a team of 20+ engineers with planning, execution and design architecture using agile methodologies such as SCRUM

  • Hire, onboard, train, mentor and coach the team and develops growth opportunities for them

  • Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/ Management or in STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

  • 10 years of managerial and operational experience supporting production environments in CI/CD and automation

Desired Characteristics

Technical Expertise:

  • Experience in managing and supporting large scale production environments in automation and CI/CD

  • Experience with Jenkins services like blue ocean and others.

  • Experience in automation infrastructure like squish/selenium/gtest/gcov/junit

  • Experience with configuration management tools like Git/ClearCase

  • Understanding of containerization technologies- Docker/Kubernetes

  • Experience with Monitoring & Alerting tools: Splunk, Sensu, Prometheus, Zabbix, Graphite, Grafana

  • Understanding of Linux/SUSE operating system

  • Understanding of networking protocols like HTTPS, TCP, VPN, DNS, Subnets, Route tables, Firewalls, Load Balancers etc.
