Actalent Mechanical Engineer in Hagerstown, Maryland

Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description

Our Mechanical Engineers play a crucial role in researching, designing, developing, testing, certifying, deploying, and improving cutting-edge products and services. These range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems to highly integrated aircraft and orbital and space exploration systems. In this role, you will conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems, handling design and development of new products and processes throughout their lifecycle.

Hard Skills

  • Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices

  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools (CATIA V5/V6 preferred)

  • Experience with Solidworks, CREO, NX if no CATIA experience

  • Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Thermal Analysis

  • Familiarity with applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5

  • Knowledge of parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes

Soft Skills

  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Work Environment

You will be joining a dynamic Mechanical Engineering Team, which is set to double in size. The role requires occasionally walking, sitting, standing, climbing stairs and steps, and repeating the same hand, arm, and finger motions. You may rarely be exposed to outdoor elements, fumes, hazardous materials, and loud noises.
