Role Description:

The Training and Development Manager (TDM) is a new role at Tucker Company created to ensure team members receive the developmental support they need as our company continues to grow. We are seeking an individual who can create and manage a training and development strategy that ensures team members understand how to contribute to meaningful outcomes. The TDM will closely collaborate with the executive board, department leaders, and team members directly to ensure this strategy continues to support the company's vision on expertise and team member's individual learning needs. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage an overall company-wide training and development strategy to align with the organization's strategic initiatives:

  •  Develop and manage individual training and development plans for all organizational roles to align with strategic plan projections, maximize inclusion for all team members. Develop and manage all company-wide training to align with strategic plan projections and ensure the content, mode, and method of training enhances the application and understanding of material for all team members to help meet and exceed goals.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure learning paths are always synchronized so that each position achieves its proficiency goals timely and efficiently. 

  • Monitor training and development plans to ensure proposed content, methods, and modes are relevant and align with moving strategic initiatives forward.  

  • Continually develop innovative and creative training techniques that actively engage trainees, ensure consistent proficiency, and evolve a culture of professional development accountability to help team members understand how they drive Tucker’s business and their careers forward.  

  • Ensure all team members are equipped with the training, resources, and tools needed to maximize potential in each role.  

  • Ensure training and development strategy maintains a culture of high performance and accountability with a focus on execution of growth and results.  

  • Facilitate all company/role-specific training where the Training Development Manager is deemed primary facilitator in a meaningful and engaging way to elevate team member knowledge and application.  

  • Foster an agile learning environment to help people learn, adapt, unlearn, and relearn to keep up with evolving conditions to become more able to capitalize on new opportunities.  

  • Regularly collaborate with key stakeholders to identify both technical and behavioral skill gaps across all team members that are required to evolve the business, provide recommendations as needed.  

  • Create and administer quantitative and qualitative proficiency testing on all new and existing staff to ensure their methods, processes, skills, and behavior continue to align with company standards. 

  • Demonstrate positive impact on organization’s strategic initiatives through a measurable metric. 

  • Ensure all company-wide training content, methods, modes, and platforms align with the training and development strategy 

  • Manage Learning Management System (LMS) and ensure all users are adequately trained in system functionality 

  • Ensure Tucker’s training always aligns or exceeds industry best practices by establishing a network of external/internal sources to identify best practices for modes of training, methods of training, platforms of training, and overall training field expertise  

  • Collaborate with the People and Culture team to ensure consistent and effective communication with all training.  

  • Travel to all remote office locations to ensure remote team member’s training and development content, methods, modes and platforms align with training and development strategy. 

  • Ensure all training and development plans and documents conform to the ISO-9001 Standards 

  • Ensures all materials and records related to training are stored and accessible to appropriate users  

Qualifications and Education Requirements:  

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience 

  • 3-5 years experience with training design, management, and delivery 

  • Excellent presentation skills and verbal delivery style to engage audience in training sessions 

  • Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills 

  • Strong verbal/nonverbal communicator, decision-maker, and collaborator 

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills 

Preferred Skills 

  • Logistics Industry experience and knowledge of industry practices 

  • Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM)
