Job summary

"EIIC functional excellence organization is aligned to CTO’s strategy to drive “One Eaton Engineering Functional Excellence”. Charter of this organization is to simplify & create better work experiences for our Engineers by transforming existing engineering work processes. EIIC functional excellence organization will work with global Engineering Functional Excellence leaders in CTO’s office, Electrical and Industrial Sector businesses.

'The Manager of Operational Excellence (Opex) and Process Quality Assurance (QA) will be responsible for driving initiatives to improve operational excellence and process quality assurance primarily in the Aerospace and Mobility business areas across the organization, leveraging the Eaton Business System (EBS) and relevant industry standards. This role will lead a team of 8+ Opex and Quality Assurance Engineers who will support various business-specific improvement initiatives across the Industrial and Electrical Sector of Eaton.

The Manager will identify improvement opportunities and use prioritization techniques to drive improvement programs for new product development, sustaining engineering, and support functions. This role will also network and coordinate with various Engineering Functional Excellence and other leaders across the Industrial Sectors to support or lead various EFE projects, technical projects scorecard, and more.

The Manager will also be responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining some of the identified organization-wide improvement initiatives, such as PROLaunch 2.0, in the long term. Additionally, this role will work with global leaders across the IS and ES to develop the Opex engineering teams' capability and capacity."

Job responsibilities

The candidate in this position is responsible to :

1) Effectively collaborate with various business and engineering functional leaders across the industrial sector to convert and deliver their strategies into working solutions.

2) Design and create metrics and data flow for the information system, automate data collection where possible, and collect data for scorecards and reports.

3) Develop and implement effective training plans for all levels of the organization to help develop and sustain a culture of continuous improvement.

4) Research performance data to characterize and gain insights on the information system organization.

5) Effectively build, develop, and manage a team of approximately six operational excellence and quality assurance engineers working with various initiatives across information systems and engineering systems.

6) Conduct self-assessments of process health, monitor assessment outcomes and corrective action plans, and assess their impact on business results.

7) Manage effective stakeholder communication, improve organizational responsiveness to stakeholder requirements, and communicate and manage customer expectations and commitments internal to the business.

8) Be accountable for the quality of embedded software primarily for aerospace products and leverage embedded software and system experience in all embedded software deliverables. Lead quality assurance activities in multiple large-scale projects while working with global teams."

Qualifications:

Education level required

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/ SW Engineering. Strong understanding of organizational processes

Years and area of experience required

  • 7-9 years’ experience in Operational Excellence and Process QA with a total experience of 10-12 years

Technical knowledge

  • Team Management and Development Experience

  • Strong understanding of Process Quality Assurance alinged with ISO 9001:2015, ASPICE, AS9100D etc.

  • Hands on experience of working with product lifecycle management processes.

  • Solid understanding of Engineering information management processes

  • Prefer DfSS/ DMAIC certified Black/Green Belt from reputed organization
