Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Automation (E&A) Engineer to join our team at the Gympie factory where we make our iconic coffee brands NESCAFÉ and INTERNATIONAL ROAST.

Your role will be to provide support for Nestlé’s Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), electrical and automation professional and technical operational activities (inc. CAPEX projects) in line with corporate guidelines; whilst ensuring that all MES-E&A activities enhance business objectives and plant operational performance without compromising health and safety, product quality, or the environment.

A day in the life…

  • Design, develop, test, and implement integrated electrical control systems, from design, URS, Functional Design, CAPEX submission, Procurement, commission, and lifecycle support

  • Provide technical support, training, and direction with PLC/HMI/SCADA programming, selection of instrumentation and calibration, process control and troubleshooting

  • Participate in Capital Investment projects, ensuring that the technical solution delivers within the expected quality standard, timeline, and budget.

  • Preparation of the user and technical specs, coordinating the requirements of the main users (production, quality, etc.), follow up of the solution development, the pre-test, implementation, and training of operators and maintenance crews.

  • Must fully understand the technical details of the E&A solutions in all projects.

  • Ensure that all E&A installations comply with safety, health, environment, product safety and product quality standards.

  • Ensure that the key E&A documentation is up to date and in practice.

  • Ensure the application and compliance to E&A related legislation (i.e., electrical, calibration, etc).

  • Play a key role in the continuous improvement of our factories through mastering the process and product characteristics.

  • The E&A engineer must have a deep insight of the processes, and continuously strive for the improvement of quality, safety or efficiency while protecting the technological know-how and competitive advantage.

What will make you successful

  • Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong team leader with a drive to deliver quality outcomes with efficiency and with a passion for continuous process improvement.

  • Minimum Bachelor of Engineering in relevant field (Electrical / Automation / Mechatronics)

  • 3+ years in similar, complex electrical and automation leadership role, preferably in manufacturing environment.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills; experienced in leading technical teams and contractors preferred.

  • Experience in the start-up of technical equipment and/or production lines.

  • Ability of Self-Management following defined KPIs/Objectives, and proactively tracking them

  • Exposure to Total Productive Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance Planning and/or maintenance execution desired, but not required.
