The IS Application Portfolio Management Analyst is a key member of the IS Division responsible for supporting the management and optimization of the NLH IT Application Portfolio. Analyzes and evaluates proposals and assists in vendor selection. Provides support to the organization for problems with vendor products and services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Application Inventory Management:

  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all applications, including their versions, dependencies, and ownership

  • Track application usage, licensing, and compliance

  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Monitor the performance and usage metrics of applications

  • Track SLA reporting and assess vendor performance against SLAs

  • Generate reports on application performance, cost, and value to the organization

  • Portfolio Assessment and Optimization:

  • Assess the value and performance of applications in the portfolio

  • Identify opportunities for consolidation, retirement, or replacement of applications

  • Propose optimization strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs

  • Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with business and operational units such as legal, finance, audit, PMO, IT teams, and stakeholders to understand application requirements and priorities

  • Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with applications, such as security vulnerabilities and compliance issues

  • Ensure that applications align with organizational security and governance policies

  • Budgeting and Financial Analysis:

  • Support analysis for financial aspects of the application portfolio, including costs, budgets, and return on investment (ROI)

  • Provide financial forecasts and budget recommendations for application investments

  • Lifecycle Management:

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of applications, from acquisition and implementation to maintenance and decommissioning

  • Ensure that applications are updated and maintained according to organizational standards

  • Technology Evaluation and Adoption:

  • Evaluate new technologies and tools that could benefit the application portfolio

  • Recommend and support the adoption of new technologies and best practices

  • Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure that all applications comply with relevant regulations and standards

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all applications

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with budgeting systems and managing departmental budget. Broad Knowledge of the IS industry; understanding of Application Portfolio and Vendor Management; understanding Application Life Cycle

  • Demonstrate organizational values and integrate them into daily organizational practice

  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize and work efficiently while multi-tasking

  • Proven ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure

  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical

  • Proven analytical and thorough, showing attention to detail

  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaborative
