We are seeking a skilled Principal Full Stack Engineer with experience in FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) to join our team. As a Full Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integrations between healthcare systems using FHIR standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, architect solutions, and implement robust, scalable backend systems.
Software engineering is the application of engineering to the design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of software in a systematic method. The roles in this function will cover all primary development activity across all technology functions that ensure we deliver code with high quality for our applications, products and services and to understand customer needs and to develop product roadmaps.
These roles include, but are not limited to analysis, design, coding, engineering, testing, debugging, standards, methods, tools analysis, documentation, research and development, maintenance, new development, operations and delivery. Primary Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable RESTful APIs for data exchange between healthcare systems
Develop and implement complex FHIR-based integration solutions using Spring Boot
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, architects, and healthcare professionals to gather integration requirements and design solutions
Implement secure integration solutions that comply with industry standards and best practices, including authentication, authorization, and encryption
Perform code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior team members
Conduct integration testing and resolve any complex issues or defects
Create and maintain technical documentation including integration design specifications, API documentation, and deployment procedures
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in backend engineering and data engineering
Works with less structured, more complex issues
Serves as a resource to others

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
10+ years experience as a Full Stack Engineer with solid proficiency in Angular, Java, SpringBoot or other backend programming languages.
Solid experience of healthcare interoperability standards and protocols, including FHIR, HL7.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Solid understanding of database concepts, distributed systems, and data warehousing principles.
Proven excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
