The incumbent is responsible for improvements in the Operations areas using best practices and methodologies, Process Excellence tools and Key Performance Indicators. This includes 1) Lead the execution of projects, 2) Support a continuous improvement and lean culture. 3) Work with support groups and transactional areas to reduce cost, reduce inventory and create flow aligned to customer demand. Prioritizes and tracks the progress of projects and initiatives. Supports statistical analysis, and contributes to people engagement as a change management agent for new initiatives aligned to corporate through the use of best practices and tools, dashboards and scorecards, visual factory, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides support in continuous improvement, JJPS, and transformational Project planning, development, and implementation.
Support strategies for product cost optimization covering areas such as waste reduction, changeover, capacity increase and cycle time reduction, streamline product flow and others.
Identifies and facilitates activities required for projects completion.
Engages people to continuous improvement environment thru Kaizen teams, improvement ideas generation, Process Excellence certifications, and other activities.
Support the maintenance of site / area metrics dashboards / scorecards, performance reports, etc.
Supports the Managers and Supervisors in the day-to-day process activities related to Continuous Improvement
Observes all company policies, procedures, programs, systems, rules, and regulations at all times of all compliance areas including but not limited to Safety, Environmental, Quality, Record Management, Human Resources, Security, and others, and encourage co-workers to do so.
Notifies any violation or deviation to their immediate supervisor or compliance area officer.
Attends applicable education and training programs and immediately advises supervisor if there are tasks or duties for which they are not accurately trained.
Participates in projects, programs, committees, and special activities that the company promotes geared toward establishing its strategic goals.
Qualifications
Education:
A minimum of bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Science, Pharmacy, Engineering, or related science.
Process Excellence, Project Management, and/or Statistical Analysis certifications are a plus.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
Experience in the pharmaceutical or manufacturing regulated industry; previous COOP and/or internship experience will be considered.
Experience performing scientific, manufacturing activities and/or project management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project)
Technical writing skills
Proficient in English and Spanish (both oral and written)
Leadership, time management, and project management skills
Preferred:
Knowledge of Lean Methodology and other Process Excellence tools
Knowledge of Current Good manufacturing Practices, Regulatory Compliance, Aseptic Techniques, Safety and Environmental requirements
Experience in Business Excellence and/or validation projects
Basic Financial knowledge
Proficiency in Minitab
Good analytical and diagnostic skills
Other:
This position requires working regular shift. Occasionally will be required to work extended hours and/or visiting all shifts.
Availability to travel inside and outside country up to 10% of the time is required.
