Western Colorado University Success Advisor, Adult Degree Completion in Gunnison, Colorado

Job Description:

Western Colorado University invites applications for the part-time position of Success Advisor for the Adult Degree Completion program. The remote position reports to the Associate Director of ADC, works closely with all members of the ADC Team, and is responsible for providing wrap-around academic support for students in Adult Degree Completion.

Responsibilities:

The ADC Success Advisor is responsible for academic advising and support of ADC students with a predetermined load in accordance of the half-time appointment (.5 FTE). This position will also provides support to the ADC program with related administrative duties. Specifically, the Success Advisor provides academic advising, assists with new student onboarding procedures and enrollment, helps the ADC community develop best practices for adult learners, coaches at-risk ADC students, as well as other administrative duties, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree and the ability to work with a diverse adult learner population. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work remotely and independently, and take initiative on multiple objectives. Comfortable with interpersonal, public and business-to-business communications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with online learning environment, student advising, admissions CRM software, Workday, and LMS systems like Canvas. As well, one to two years of academic advising, counseling, career development or administration of support services, and experience working with non-traditional or adult learner students.

Compensation:

This .5 FTE (halftime) appointment offers an hourly base pay range between $21.63/hour and $ 22.60/hour depending upon experience. The position is FLSA non-exempt and eligible for overtime. Western offers an excellent benefits package including shared premiums for a comprehensive health insurance plan, dental insurance, retirement plan, life insurance, and other insurance options. After one year of employment, Western provides free tuition for dependents enrolled full time in undergraduate programs for up to four years.
