Western Colorado University Moncrief Chair In Energy Management in Gunnison, Colorado

POSITION:

Western Colorado University invites applications for the Moncrief Chair in Energy Management in the School of Business, an endowed position. This is a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track faculty position. The teaching responsibilities include courses in Energy Law and Regulation, Energy Contracts, Applied Energy Seminar, Prospect Economics and Evaluations and other related subjects. There are opportunities to design and participate in international course opportunities as well. Other courses could be included in the teaching load based on departmental need and faculty qualifications. The successful candidate will teach a 4/3 load with reassign time for program development and supervision of student internships. Strong commitment to effective teaching, mentoring, advising, service and professional development is expected.

Located in beautiful Gunnison, Colorado, Western strives to be a campus of inclusive excellence. Western's School of Business educates 70 graduate students each year and 350 undergraduate students; 40-50 of which are in the Energy Management emphasis. The School of Business offers applied bachelor's degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, and Economics, as well as minors and/or emphases in Business Analytics, Business Law, Energy Management, Finance, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Resort Management, and Sales as well as an innovative and unique Outdoor Industry MBA.

QUALIFICATIONS:

An advance graduate degree (Ph.D., J.D., MBA) in a field associated with energy management is required. Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education, excellence in teaching, and willingness to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population. Candidates must also be able to use technology in instructional delivery, including ability to teach online and hybrid courses. Collegiality and professional flexibility are characteristic of the department and would be sought in the successful candidate.

SALARY/BENEFITS:

Range depending on experience: $110,000 - 120,000 annualized salary. Western offers an excellent benefits package including shared premiums for a comprehensive health insurance plan, dental insurance, retirement plan, life insurance, and other insurance options. After one year of employment, Western provides free tuition for dependents enrolled full time in undergraduate programs for up to four years.
