The Skyline Group of Companies Multi-Residential Paralegal in Guelph, Ontario

As a result of our continued growth, we are seeking candidates for the position of Multi-Residential Paralegal . This position will be located out of our Head Office in Guelph, Ontario, and will be required to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week. 

Job Description

The Multi-Residential Paralegal is responsible for assisting the Tenant Support Manager in developing solutions to retain tenancies and representing the organization at Residential Tenancy Tribunal hearings. This role includes preparing and submitting legal documentation for these hearings across all provinces while supporting Skyline’s shared goal of creating meaningful value and an exceptional experience for our customers, our people and our communities.

What we look for :

  • Demonstrated experience supporting tribunal proceedings, including preparation, representation, and documentation, is essential.

  • Strong knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA), Ontario Human Rights Code and other applicable legislation.

  • Strong research, legal documentation and file management skills

  • Able to be proactive with good problem-solving skills, judgment and innovation.

  • Familiarity with leasing/rental documents and lease negotiation principles.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with an enthusiasm for working with the public. You'll be servicing some pretty awesome tenants and those tenants will need someone just as awesome.

  • Superior multi-tasking and organizational skills while remaining detail-oriented. 

  • Diplomacy, but firm in response to assertive behaviour (think cool as a cucumber).

  • Understanding of commercial property management or real estate is an asset.

  • Working knowledge of Yardi is an asset.

  • Ability to operate under pressure and meet deadlines. 

  • Minimum 2 to 4 years post-secondary education and/or 5 years equivalent workplace experience in customer service and administration. 

  • A licensed Paralegal designation is required
