This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Food Safety Quality and Regulatory Technician – Night shift (12 month term), will be accountable for food safety and quality inspection process within a specified range. In this role, you will conduct tests and inspections following internal and external procedures in food safety.
Key Accountabilities
Conduct routine visual inspections following the compliance program.
Work 80% of the time on the production floor visually inspecting equipment to ensure sanitary condition for start of production.
Record the inspections and filing reports daily after visual inspection.
Perform pre-operational swabbing and other Food Safety Quality and Regulatory related tasks as required.
Follow company environment and health and safety policies and procedures, identify instances of risky behaviors in the workplace and take appropriate action and escalate serious issues as appropriate.
Handle basic clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent
Experience in Food industry and HACCP knowledge
Microsoft Office experience
Able to work on night shift Sunday to Friday
Able to be 80% of the time walking on the production floor. Occasional ladder/stair use will be required
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
Diploma/Certificate or bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Experienced in manufacturing as Line Inspectors or equivalent experience
In-depth knowledge of sanitation and manufacturing practices in the assessment of plant hygiene program
Experience in Food Safety and Quality in Meat Industry
