Abbott District Sales Manager-Hospital in Guangzhou, China

Major Responsibilities:

  • Leading, managing, developing and coaching the sales team to achieve or overachieve sales and unit targets driving profitable growth

  • Understanding customer needs, industry and therapy area changes - Be familiar with the key customer needs in the diabetes management space and stay abreast of market changes and trends. Monitoring, analyzing reporting on competitors’ products and strategies and driving appropriate business response. Anticipating healthcare market developments and translating into sales tactics and successful execution. Be seen as an expert in diabetes.

  • Support the business strategy – Support and execute the marketing & commercial strategy through salesforce excellence. Sales strategy must be focused on target customers and utilize the appropriate communication channels to develop customer loyalty. Sales strategy must support the successful management of distributors and tender gains

  • Salesforce Quality Enhancement - Initiate and facilitate a process of constant improvement and enhancement of performance of the ADC Salesforce. Develop and monitor KPI’s ensuring areas of improvement are highlighted and addressed, analyze statistics, identify trends, issues etc; in order to develop solutions to enhance efficiencies. Be responsible for developing individual coaching plans for the team and take ownership of the plan so that performance is improved. Be responsible for the ADC Salesforce training plan by conducting regular field visits

  • Key Stakeholder Development – Be responsible for key customer stakeholders to identify new business opportunities. Deliver effective product presentations to key stakeholders

  • Ethics and Compliance – Comply with the ethics and compliance policy of the company and uphold its values. Set the standard for your team and implement measures to ensure the teams meet the standards required

  • Budget Management - Responsibility for designated, project-related budgets as appropriate, ensuring they are maintained within spending limits.

  • Metrics – Assess performance of key activities and resource use through effective KPI setting and monitoring

Minimum Education Required :

Educated to degree level, major in medical, pharmacy, biology and business is preferred

Minimum Experience Required:

  • Good knowledge of the diabetes market

  • 3 years previous sales experience in pharmaceutical & devices products, experience in a multinational company preferred

  • Possess high level of integrity

  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills with the ability to deliver clear concise messages

  • Be able to challenge the status quo with innovative solutions

  • Ability to be autonomous and self-motivated

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Keen awareness and adherence to timelines

  • Fluent in Mandarin, English is a plus
