The Opportunity: Avantor, a Global Fortune 500 company is looking for a dedicated Process Engineer II to optimize our Performance Materials organization. This Northeast (PA, OH, KY preferred) role is full-time, remote. If you have process engineering/ experience - let's talk! Minimum Education Requirement BS in Chemical engineering; MS/PHD in core sciences (Chemistry, Biopharma, Engineering), MBA a plus Required Experience (7+ years of combined experience) Experience in engineering, preferably in the biopharmaceutical industry, with a track record of leading engineering projects and delivering innovative solutions. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, external partners, and senior management. Project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, PMP certification a plus but not required. Planning, scheduling, monitoring, controlling, and reporting project activities and status. Experience in a manufacturing environment, in an engineering capacity involving chemical process design, transfer design input for manufacturability and capital funds request preparation. Collaboration Tools (IE: Microsoft Office) Preferred Experience: Developing, scaling up, and optimizing process technologies for biopharmaceutical products, such as monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, or vaccines. Applying quality by design (QbD) principles, design of experiments (DOE), and statistical process control (SPC) techniques to process development and validation. Working with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality, engineering, and regulatory affairs, to deliver process technology solutions that meet business objectives and customer expectations. Evaluating and implementing emerging process technologies, such as continuous manufacturing, single-use systems, advanced analytical tools, or digital transformation, to improve process performance, efficiency, and robustness. Writing and reviewing technical documents, such as protocols, reports, standard operating procedures, risk assessments, and regulatory submissions. Leading and mentoring junior scientists and engineers, as well as collaborating with external partners, such as academic institutions, contract research organizations, or equipment suppliers. The Process Engineer II while working hands on, independently and collaboratively on cross-functional teams will be an integral part of developing new manufacturing processes and assessing the adequacy of equipment to meet ever-changing market/manufacturing demands.
