Description
Purpose/Scope
Apply knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to promote sales growth within the Work To Existing business unit and project execution that exceed the needs of our customers and our expectations for each project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage all areas of an assigned project including, but not limited to, the following: sales, estimating, listing, monitoring the drawing process, reviewing the bid, handling the contract, managing change orders, project planning and scheduling/coordinating project resources with W2E field team.
Act as primary point of contact for external customers from sales inquiry through project execution and close-out
Identify sales opportunities and develop relationships with existing and new customers
Manage internal coordination with all departments as required for successful project execution including, but not limited to: estimating, engineering, drafting, supply chain, accounting, contract administration, and field
Full responsibility for project financial performance of projects.
Coordinate field resources as necessary to support workload within business unit.
Interact and maintain relationships with project owners, subcontractors, and architectural and engineering firms
Provide high levels of customer service to both internal and external customers
Manage project contract administration, billing, and collections
Manage subcontractors
Problem resolution including, but not limited to, scheduling and contractual issues
If assigned, duties may include direct management of administrative and/or support staff
Attend project site meetings as required
Attend regular departmental weekly/monthly sales, scheduling, and cost reporting meetings
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business
Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in construction industry
Other Required Qualifications
Strong leadership, organizational and decision-making skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Customer Service focus with excellent verbal and written social skills
Good computer skills; proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
An understanding of construction with the ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
An understanding of basic business finance
Experience with problem solving and handling multiple projects continually
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management experience in construction industry
Experience managing field personnel
Experience influencing without authority on cross-functional team
Experience with Microsoft Project and other software scheduling tools
Prior experience working with pre-cast and/or pre-stressed concrete
Physical Requirements
Ability to travel approximately 40% of the time
Office: Move 25lbs (not for all jobs, reasonable accommodations will be made), work with a computer for extended periods of time
Field (Periodic): Must be able to traverse uneven ground, move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, climb on a flatbed semi-trailer
Work Environment
Normal office working environment and visits to project sites as necessary
Office: Quiet with some ambient noise, climate controlled, fluorescent lighting
Field: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles
