What You Will Achieve
As a vital member of the digital pathology and image analysis group, you will support Pfizer's mission to deliver breakthroughs that change patients' lives. The role presents a unique opportunity to work on a wide variety of portfolio studies and be a part of the rapidly growing fields of computational and digital pathology. You will advance the Pfizer portfolio by performing whole-slide image analysis to quantify histologic stains, and protein and nuclei acid targets that have been labeled in tissue sections. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing various tasks in the imaging data workflow that include brightfield/fluorescence slide scanning, image quality assessment, generating digital image analysis endpoints, and performing statistical analysis and report generation.
How You Will Achieve It
Develop /deploy new and existing whole-slide image analysis algorithms using commercial and open-source software packages.
Develop custom ML/DL image analysis algorithms using commercial or open-source tools.
Independently analyze and interpret the data, perform statistical analysis of DIA endpoints, generate reports for internal teams and complete the studies in a timely manner
Present data to key project stakeholders within and outside of the organization
Perform whole-slide scanning of glass microscope slides into a virtual image archive using digital scanners
Organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or in a collaborative environment
Follow established operating procedures, maintain electronic/paper lab notebooks and imaging data and QC documents
Perform all regulatory responsibilities in compliance with applicable regulatory standards including Good Laboratory Practices and animal welfare regulations
Must-Have
Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical sciences, or related disciplines
0-2 years of work experience in drug discovery and development.
Prior experience in whole slide image analysis is strongly preferred. All candidates with relevant technical expertise will be considered.
Demonstrable experience in deploying AI/ML algorithms using one or more image analysis software packages such as Visiopharm, HALO or QuPath.
Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts.
Working knowledge in one or more of the following programming languages: Python, MATLAB, R, C/C++.
Proficient in using office 365 suite, in particular, Microsoft Excel for data crunching.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to interact, contribute, and communicate effectively with the team.
Nice to have
Demonstrable experience in developing custom algorithms in Python for whole slide image analysis.
Working knowledge of GraphQL.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires sitting in front of a computer monitor for extended periods of time.
Ability to perform complex data analysis and calculations
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Up to 10% travel required to attend business meetings and scientific symposia/meetings.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $64,600.00 to $107,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
