Summary: Electrical Engineer position reports to the Data Center Sr. Indoor Product Development Engineer. He/She will work in a cross functional team to develop new data center cooling solutions manufactured and deployed globally, with a focus on the North American market. Candidates will develop and document electrical designs to meet objectives set by sales and product management teams.
Duties & Responsibilities: College graduate in electrical engineering or related technical discipline with 0 -- 3 years engineering experience, or a master's degree in engineering, or related technical discipline.
Knowledge and application of applicable electrical standards; NEC, UL (UL1995, UL60335-2-40, UL508A), IEC and CE. Obtain/maintain UL508A MTR Certification. Knowledge of the following areas: Induction motors, EC motors, pumps, fans, VFDs, sensors, PLCs, and Modbus preferred. Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent. Experience with 3D CAD environments is a plus. Must be able to travel to suppliers and job sites as necessary (<10%).

: Design electrical systems for data center cooling products. Create and maintain BoMs, wiring schematics, panel/terminal layout drawings and wire harness documentation. Diligently consider all aspects of product operation in the design of an electrical/control system, including product compliance, usability, and safety-related details. Participate in design meetings and communicate electrical considerations with design team members. Coordinate the panel-build and line wiring for prototype and production units. Coordinate aspects of a given project which include project scheduling to meet project dates, purchasing components, evaluating new products, preparing manuals, and maintaining a project design file for permanent records. Continually enhance skills and knowledge through on-the-job training and external seminars. Stay current with electrical standards and apply that knowledge towards the technical enhancement of Modine machinery and processes.
