Job Purpose

The Maintenance/Engineer Manager is responsible for providing technical expertise and project leadership to the Greer Plant to implement all capital and non-capital projects as well as support daily manufacturing operations. Working within a team-based environment, the Electrical Maintenance Manager will support Plant Management pertaining to Safety, Maintenance, Quality, Productivity and Capex Projects.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Strong leadership skills including ability to hold direct reports accountable for their objectives.

  • Directs employees’ activities and manages tasks striving for a safe working environment, high quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Active Safety leader within Greer facility . Participates in weekly 6S, PSSRs (leads when appropriate), member of safety review team, member ISO 14001 initiative, provides training on new equipment. Provides guidance and leadership on the floor to promote a safe work environment.

  • Supports all capital and non-capital project activity at Greer, including the planning, development, design, scheduling, and communication.

  • Work with Plant Manager developing capital projects submission for approval to Director of Operations.

  • Responsible for local Supplier and Contractor (based on company policy approval) selection based on product and application.

  • Manages (with Projects/Process Engineer and Process Specialist) the quotation process on capital and non-capital projects and submits for approval to Plant Manager.

  • Responsible for PLC logic maintenance, electrical prints, and operator interface software.

  • Update and archive electrical prints, PLC programs, and operator interface software, necessary for the documentation of projects that have gone into production.

  • Provides CAD drawings when needed for equipment layout and detail.

  • Provides manufacturing support through Maintenance (Repairs / PM’s) and Engineering.

  • Embodies the company’s Values of integrity, commitment to continual improvement, personal ownership within a team-based organization and investment in people.

  • Responsible for 5S of Maintenance Department.

  • Required to be hands on based on demand.

  • Manages Maintenance Supervisor and provides leadership and support within Maintenance team.

  • Ensures all contractors follow the rules and regulations set forth in the contractor safety program.

  • Ensures the safety and functionality of all equipment in the facility.

  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

  • Travel up to 5%, based on demand.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • Strong safety acumen. Ability to recognize hazards and unsafe behaviors.

  • Strong leadership skills including ability to hold direct reports accountable for their actions.

  • Ability to lead teams and provide support to achieve targeted metrics.

  • Previous supervisory experience is a plus (Internal plant production will be considered).

  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience in increasingly responsible positions; including 2-3 years of supervisory experience a plus. High emphasis on electrical knowledge.

  • Project management skills.

  • Plastics compounding a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to create and lead teams for successful project completion.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Self-starter and motivated.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problem.

Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections)

  • The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $113,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
