Merrick & Company Senior Project Engineer - Structural in Greenwood Village, Colorado
OVERVIEW
Merrick is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Energy, Manufacturing, and Bioprocessing Business Unit. This position includes providing experienced structural engineering input to projects, which includes project technical coordination as a project engineer. The work supports the design and retrofit of industrial projects in the oil, gas, power, manufacturing and bioprocessing sectors. This position will report to the Structural Technical Lead. Responsibilities as Project Engineer include working alongside of the Project Manager for the technical implementation of projects. This includes coordinating project work performed by the various disciplines involved on projects such as process, structural, mechanical, instrument & controls, and electrical. The Senior Engineer will coordinate all design efforts, manage quality standards and client expectations from a technical standpoint. This position is full-time and located in our Greenwood Village, CO office. Relocation and a hybrid schedule will be considered. Typical annual pay range for this position is $121,700.00 - $160,000.00. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience. WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Senior Structural/Project Engineer will be proficient in reviewing project proposals, scopes, and budgets and tracking efforts of a complete design team; review specifications, technical documents and drawings from all disciplines with respect to quality and content; direct design staff in the preparation of engineering deliverables relative to specific client standards. The Engineer will utilize tools to effectively organize and communicate project related information and needs. As a design professional, this individual will be responsible for managing the multidiscipline production of deliverables with a customer-friendly focus. Responsibilities: Design: Conducts or assists in project progress review meetings and participates in bid reviews when requested and the 30%, 60%, and 90% design reviews on all assigned projects. Coordinates design criteria for all disciplines and assures compliance with project and client requirements. Coordinates all discipline engineering drawings, calculations, specifications and data sheets. Construction Support: Assists in distribution and review execution of shop drawings and submittals for specification compliance in a timely manner for various project related disciplines. Participates in appropriate preconstruction/preparatory meetings. Performs site visits and organize preparation of individual discipline observation/follow-up phase reports documenting progress and deficiencies. Assists in distribution and execution of responses to all RFI's for various project related disciplines. Profitability/Planning/Scheduling: Reviews scope definition, budget and schedule estimates prior to and after proposal development for conformance with client requirements. Monitors project progress and keeps discipline leads appraised of deadlines related to quality checks. Technical Quality: Monitors project deliverables for conformance to client & Merrick standards and conducts or assists in deliverable review meetings. Initiates or prompts execution of Technical and Inter-disciplinary reviews and monitors completion of quality activities according to Merrick standards. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering from ABET accredited program required. Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in industrial and manufacturing facilities. Registered Professional Engineer (PE). Proficiency in MS Office, BlueBeam Revu, PIP, ACI, ASCE-7, and IBC. Client facilities require site visits to gather project information, which may require climbing ladders and stairs. Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and be insurable under Merrick's insurance carrier. Client projects for this position require U.S. Citize ship. PERKS
