Job Schedule: 9/80 Work Schedule – (Every other Friday is a non-workday.)

Job Description:

L3Harris has an immediate opening for a product owner scientist, Systems engineer, to support a multi-disciplined team across department areas. As part of our team, you will be responsible for leading product development and engineering functions, and act as an IPT Lead. This role requires the application of the principles and techniques of Systems Engineering. You will work with engineering teams following the appropriate standards, processes, throughout the system development life cycle to support our internal and external customers to meet milestones and track progress throughout the process. Interface with customers, and other technical and support personnel. Coordinating and leading engineering teams in support for proposals, including technical solution, estimates, and schedules.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead customer technical engagements

  • Support technical risk identification and mitigation strategies

  • Drive technical product strategy & roadmaps

  • Drive mentorship and training within the engineering organization

  • Maintain cognizance of industry tools, best practices, and procedures.

  • Drive interface with internal organizations

  • Communicate with leadership on status, issues, milestones, and successes

  • Analyze problems and drive down to the root cause of problems quickly

    Job Qualification Requirements:

    Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. A degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or closely related technical field is strongly preferred. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.

  • Must possess an active DoD Top Secret (SCI) security clearance with the ability to maintain, which requires U.S. Citizenship.

  • Extensive systems engineering experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Must be a self-starter who is comfortable determining program needs and executing them.

  • Ability to work with flexible goals or shifting priorities.

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Mastery of systems engineering concepts and principles

  • Ability to balance multiple projects and competing priorities

  • Solid understanding of systems fundamentals

  • Java understanding and experience

  • Experience with databases and SQL

  • Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
