The Mother Infant/Special Care Nursery Supervisor, under the direction of the Nursing Director Maternal Newborn Services, is accountable for ongoing leadership and operations of the clinical department and for nursing care safety and quality. Uses sound human resource and budget principles to guide the daily provision of care to patients and families. Supports comprehensive patient and family services through effective participation in the patient’s medical care plan and in accordance with the policies and procedures set forth by Bon Secours Mercy Health. Coordinates the daily activities of the unit in collaboration with the director, charge nurses, and support staff. Supports and assists with overall management of the patient care unit on a 24 hour basis with the director. Assists with planning, developing, and implementing programs to meet the needs of patients, community, and organization. Assists director with setting goals for self and team. Works directly with director to determine the impact and implications of actions and decisions within the department. Will assist in overall strategy and performance improvement. Supports the Mission and Core Values of the Sponsors. Respects and maintains confidentiality.
