iParametrics LLC HVAC Design Engineer (Senior/Principal) in Greenville, South Carolina

JOB TITLE: HVAC Design Engineer LOCATION: Greenville, SC JOB DESCRIPTION We are seeking an experienced HVAC Design Engineer for a dynamic role that offers opportunities for leadership and technical growth. This role will be filled at either the Senior or Principal level, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience. The selected candidate will oversee specific project areas, serving as the technical representative of the HVAC discipline and ensuring accuracy in the execution of advanced engineering assignments. This role involves coordinating with multiple teams, including other engineering disciplines, project management, vendors, and clients, to deliver high-quality results within established scope, cost, and schedule baselines. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design, development, and review of HVAC system specifications, load calculations, air flow diagrams, and system operation narratives.

  • Perform and verify engineering analyses and calculations, ensuring compliance with project quality standards.

  • Specify materials, equipment, and HVAC systems, and solve technical problems of advanced complexity.

  • Provide technical support for equipment and material procurement, including creating scopes of work, evaluating bids, and reviewing vendor submittals.

  • Offer technical support for construction administration, including addressing construction RFI’s and field changes.

  • Develop, review, and report on estimates, schedules, and progress, including effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local codes, standards, and guidelines.

  • Collaborate across disciplines, ensuring technical coordination and integration with other project areas.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • U.S. Citizenship required.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Extensive experience in designing HVAC systems and proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD tools.

  • Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards, particularly those relevant to HVAC system design in nuclear or federal projects.

  • Strong communication skills for interacting with project management, clients, and vendors.

  • Proficiency in engineering software tools and MS Office applications.

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR SENIOR HVAC

    • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Working knowledge of DOE orders, state, and local codes.

  • Experience providing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services on large industrial projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide engineering leadership and supervise junior engineers and designers in delivering project scope.

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR PRINCIPAL HVAC

    • Minimum 15 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to serve as the Supervising Lead Engineer on large-scale projects.

  • Experience managing large EPC projects and providing high-level technical solutions for complex problems.

  • Proven track record in setting up projects, developing control schedules, and leading projects to completion, with a focus on nuclear or government agency projects.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.

  • Experience in HVAC design for nuclear facilities under ASME NQA-1 or similar quality assurance programs.

  • Field experience in the implementation of HVAC designs and project management.

  • EPC project experience in industries such as nuclear, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or federal government projects.

Compensation for this position is hourly ($62-78) based on experience, background, and skills.
