Discover Impactful Work:

The Technical Application Specialist is responsible for providing remote post technical support of Thermo Fisher Scientific products to customers and field personnel, as well as relaying customer feedback to the organization.

What you'll do:

  • Provide technical support for Thermo Fisher Scientific product lines and services by answering customer technical inquiries. Inquiries may be received via telephone, email or web chat.

  • Provide customer support on technical issues by using all available resources and raising issues or problems when warranted.

  • Participate in frequent training on products and continuing education on new applications and technologies to remain knowledgeable of groundbreaking scientific discoveries.

  • Accurately record pertinent information from customer contacts in Customer Relationship Management system.

  • Summarize trends and technology as technical tips, FAQ’s and troubleshooting guides.

  • Recommend changes to knowledge databases, website, and other company-managed databases of technical information.

  • Present technical updates to colleagues and contribute to department meetings.

  • May present technical and product information at trade shows and in customer field visits.

  • Maintaining product specialties within the group and taking on projects as required.

  • Training new TSR’s and other staff.

How you'll get here:

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences (Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Medical Technology).

  • Certificate to work as a Medical Technician

  • 2+ years of laboratory experience as a medical Technician is helpful.

  • Experience in customer service and/or an applied science area (i.e., clinical research, diagnostics, etc.) is desirable.

  • Proven technical writing capabilities and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven track record to quickly learn large amounts of new, sophisticated technical information.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and problem solve.

  • Digital literacy, including spreadsheet, database, word processing and Internet applications.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.

  • Willingness to return customer calls after office hours (rotating with other TSRs).

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $72,000.00–$96,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
